We provide a range of programs tailored specifically for the needs of our professional clients. Below is a general description of some of our current programs. Please contact us and we can visit your office to discuss a program and curriculum to fit your needs.
1. International English Conversation for Lawyers
Focusing on the daily vocabulary used by legal professionals, our attorney instructors use a range of legal and business resources including textbooks, newspaper articles and legal journals to develop the professional English communication skills of our clients. Sessions usually start with a discussion of the members' recent activities, including the general content of business meetings and attendances at court. Through these regular discussions, members soon become able to use the appropriate legal terminology to explain their daily activities. Following this "warm-up" discussion, members will usually review and discuss a short article or other form of reading material on a business, legal or social topic provided to them for preparation the previous week. Vocabulary, idioms and grammar will be examined, and relationships between the topic of the material and members' own experiences will be discussed.
2. International English Writing for Lawyers
Using written materials from the client's daily activities where possible, our attorney instructors work with our clients using textbooks, a range of writing templates and various types of correspondence including business letters, memorandums, e-mail, and other documents. Training involves the use of the textbook or other materials, as well as the analysis of the templates or samples provided by the client. The content of writing samples is examined, including organization, vocabulary, punctuation and grammar. Special idioms and legal terminology are also discussed, as well as the different nuances or tones that could be used to communicate varying levels of firmness. Homework is usually assigned in the form of short writing assignments, to utilize the elements introduced during the sessions.
3. Programs in specific areas of law such as international finance and securitization
Depending on the particular experience of our attorneys, we can offer special English training programs in specific legal areas.
4. International Business Presentation Training
Designed primarily for attorneys attending conferences or giving speeches to professional colleagues or major clients, this program can be given individually or to small groups, and can be given as a series of one-day workshops, shorter seminars or weekly classes.

- Selecting the key purpose for the presentation
- Choosing an effective organization strategy
- Quickly understanding the audience to use the best style

- Making a powerful climax
Members will be given detailed feedback throughout the program and a video camera will used for the purpose of reviewing presentations with the group.
5. Negotiation Skills and Strategy
Participants will be given components of negotiation training taught in some of North America's most prestigious law and business schools. Theory will be based on material developed and used at Harvard Law School, Queen's University Faculty of Law, The University of Michigan, and the F.B.I. Academy.
